COVID-19 Update

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Toronto IBI has always made our children and staff's health, safety and wellness our top priority. We were excited to reopen and be delcared an essential-service by the government of Ontario shortly after the provincial shut-down in spring of 2019. We have taken the responsibility of remaining open throughout the pandemic with the utmost seriousness and and made numerous changes to our procedures and facilities to ensure everyone's safety.

Although ABA therapy centres in Ontario operate under a gray area for business classification purposes, Toronto IBI adheres to the COVID-19 Guidance provided to Child Care Settings and Schools by Toronto Public Health (TPH).

Staff Vaccination
ALL staff, placement students, volunteers and consultants on site are FULLY vaccinated.

Daily COVID-19 Screening
Both children and staff are screened daily with the most up-to-date screening questionnaires available from Toronto Public Health (TPH) and the province of Ontario. Additionally, the temperature of all children and staff are taken before entry.

Simplified Pick-Up/Drop-Off
To keep the number of people inside our facilities at a minimum and to prevent crowding, children are now picked-up and dropped-off by their therapists at the door to our facilities and our doors will remain locked at all times.

Regular Cleaning / Sanitizing
Our facilties are regularly cleaned and sanitized, while high-touch areas are cleaned and sanitized multiple times per day on a set schedule. Sanitizer cleaning spray or sanitizing wipes are available at teaching stations and all rooms for easy accessibility.

Hand washing and Hand Sanitizing
Children and staff are encouraged to wash their hands at regular intervals throughout the day. In addition to washing hands, hand sanitizer is available at all teaching stations as well as in all rooms for easy accessibility.

Social Distancing and Air Filtration
Children are socially distanced from each other whenever possible and group activities such as circle time are currently on hold. Windows are opened whenever possible to improve airflow, and HEPA air filters are placed in rooms intended for multiple occupancy.

Personal Protective Equipment and Mask Use
Staff at our facilities are required to wear full PPE (3-layer medical mask and eye protection) at all times in order to keep themselves and others safe.

We recommend that children wear masks if they are able to do so, but of course we recognize the difficulties that many children with ASD have with wearing masks. As such, masks ARE NOT mandatory for children attending our facilities and programs.
